Then in a week or two, the devices are fit using state-of-the-art fitting techniques to select gain in each given frequency and other parameters to maximize comfort and understanding. After a week of use, another fitting is performed based on your experiences, likes, and dislikes from your real-world environment. Then another visit in a few weeks to see if the adjustments and fine-tuning are working to bring the desired results. It is essential to adapt to all the new sounds that you will be hearing and continue the process of hearing rehabilitation.

And it doesn't stop there. Maintenance, cleanings, repairs, and servicing must keep those results and adapt to changes in hearing and lifestyle. Sending the hearing aids off to the factory for repairs means you are without proper hearing for a week or two.
